Jackson Hole

We went to Jackson Hole on Monday for some fun family skiing. (And snowboarding). I was charged with teaching Laura and Sam how to snowboard. Sam took to it like a natural and I'm sure Laura would have to if she hadn't knocked herself silly on the first run. Poor girl. She face planted so hard she gave herself a nose bleed. The top picture is her recovering from the blow.

Ian really enjoyed it. He liked going fast and even tried a few jumps!

Here's Sam being super smooth on his board. Well, it's Pete's board really. Sam was carving his first run. Sadly towards the end of the day he fell hard on his bottom and got a headache.... concussion through the bum?

Go Laura Go! She got carving a little bit and looked good doing it.

Wipeout! I love the look of frustration. (Those are dad's legs, he was there having a good time too) ((And so was mom)). Thanks Sara for letting Laura use your board!

Skiing

Rory and I went cross country skiing this weekend with Jessie and William. We went to Kelly Canyon and it was beautiful. And, of course, we brought life savers. What's cross country skiing without life savers? We both had lots of fun and hopefully Jessie and William did too.

Wedding Dress

I know most of the people who look at this blog are already married but maybe you know people who aren't. I'm selling my aunt's wedding dress. She's asking $500 for it. The dress is a size nine and personally I think it's gorgeous. It's got really pretty bead work done on the bodice and the train. The train can hook up for easier walking around (last picture). I think the tallest you could be to wear this dress is 5'4-5'5 (no heels). Anyway, if you know anyone short who's getting married pass the word along!

Cabin Christmas

For Christmas this year Rory and I got together with his mom and sister and rented a cabin! It was awesome!
Our not so rustic kitchen

It had a loft with two beds and then two bedrooms downstairs.

A view of the living room from the loft. I highly recommend this cabin! What a fun Christmas.

Cross Country Skiing

One of the high lights of our Cabin Christmas (for me) was that we got to go cross country skiing every day! We could just put on our skis and ski off the porch. Sigh.... bliss.

Our merry little group setting out for a nice ski.

Look how much I enjoy my time on skis! The point of this picture was that you could see the Grand in the distance. It's hard to see in such a little pictures though. (It's right above my head)
And we found a phone booth! Sadly it didn't work. But it had some interesting equipment inside.
I never did get the hang of can phones.

Ice Fishing

I learned how to ice fish over Christmas break! I even got my very own pole. Rory's mom brought us all See's candy suckers to savor while we sat around waiting for fishy bites.

Jolene with her sucker and her shrimp. She was the only one who was lucky with the shrimp.

Kathleen making a path between Rory's fish hole and mine for ultimate running between holes ease.
My first ever ice fishing fish!! What a beauty. I don't think they liked getting pulled out of the warm water and dropped into the snow.

Jolene and me showing off. What good fisherwomen we are!
