We just had a lovely trip to Pops and Toots house in Idaho! The pictures are out of order and I'm too lazy to fix them.
Off we went! It was a loooooong car ride but the girls were really good. They watched shows and colored and giggled together and only screamed a little.
The first night we stopped at Sara and Jake's in Colorado. The girls were pretty happy to get out of the car.
I got to see some of my old high school buddies while we were there. It was lots of fun to catch up.
Watching a back hoe move boulders around so Pops and Toots could have a stair case to their basement. They're wearing some old dresses of mine they found in the dress up box.
Toots took us and Aunty Candace and Hazel to the carousel one afternoon. The girls loved it.
Lily didn't want to sit on a horse so we hung out in the carriage.
After the carousel we went to the splash pad and only sort of froze.
On another day we went to Jackson. The big kids all went on the Cowboy Coaster and had a blast. Madelyn squealed and giggled the whole way down. Lily and Toots did the alpine slide and also had a blast. Here's Adam sitting in a stroller.
Stopping to smell the... lilacs.
Pops and Candace were so nice and watched all the kids while the rest of us went on a hike in Yellowstone. We saw a bear! Luckily not very close.
I don't know why Sam looks so sad in this picture but I love it.
Didthers. So cute!
What sweet siblings.
The views were gorgeous! It was pretty cold in the morning but we all warmed up eventually.
HaHA! I caught a picture of Laura with her eyes open. And she's smiling!
Group selfie.
We nearly stepped on this massive snake.
Phew! Finished! The hike was 13 miles and it was a fun one. The river was raging due to the heavy spring run off. It was pretty fun to throw stuff in!
After our hike we had burgers in Gardner and then DQ in West Yellowstone. We took a few shots while we waited for our ice cream.
Grandpa was our chauffeur for this trip. Thanks!!
Back in Rexburg for this shot. Lily was having her morning cocoa.
On the way home we stopped at the top of the Jackson pass so Madelyn could see the snow.
We also stopped at the bagel store in Wilson on the way down the pass. The girls were pretty crabby at that point. Luckily they got happier as the day went on.
Gas stop in Colorado.
The last few miles to Manhattan were pretty rough. We drove straight into a severe thunderstorm. I was totally safe and took a picture while driving.
Aaaaaand we're back in Rexburg taking a walk with Uncle Ian.
See the temple?
We took these pictures for posterity. The dress is one that Toots wore when she was little. We also have a picture of me in it.
We went to Dubois for a day and played with Sara and girlies and the Grandparents Murdock.
The girls were pretending to be pregnant. I wonder if this picture is prophetic?
It was actually a warm day so we turned on the sprinkler under the tramp. Lily liked it for about two minutes and then freaked out about being bounced so much.
We did bubbles.
And squirt guns.
Look at those happy faces!
It was such a good trip and so good to see everyone!
