The Farmstead

We visited The Farmstead this week. We've heard good things about it and it didn't disappoint.

June tried her hand at tug of war. She totally won.

There were plenty of picture opportunities.

The main attraction for us was the corn maze. We only got a little lost.

The girls were always really excited when we found a sign telling us we were going the right way.

We did eventually find our way out and moved on to other fun things. Like the giant slide!

There was also a giant dragon! The girls were soooo excited to go in and then freaked out a little once we got inside. But then once we got out they were excited to go in again and the cycle repeated.

In the end you have to crawl out its bottom.

Another big attraction was the corn pit. Madelyn and June spent a while rolling around in there.

All in all it was a great family evening!

Pumpkins and Ian

We got our pumpkins this weekend. It was a bit chilly and June did not approve of being so bundled up.

But the rest of us had fun roaming around and finding the pumpkin that spoke to our souls. Madelyn found a perfectly round one.

Lily picked a cute smaller one.

Rory went straight for the giant one.

June and I found little warty ones.

Once we found the perfect pumpkins we headed up to Bogus to watch Ian race. It was fun to cheer him on.

We ended the day with the mountain coaster. In Lily's words "it was WILD!"

4th of July

Pete, Candace, Hazel, and Teddy all came to visit us for the 4th of July.

We did some sparklers.

Had some sister loves.

Threw some poppers at mom.

What a cute family.

Hazel loved the sparklers.

Teddy really loved the sparklers.

June..... did not.

Nice belly!

The girls especially loved the pooping dog firework.

Still not happy about those dang sparklers.

One of the days they were here the boys went off to play frisbee golf so Candace and I took the kids to a fountain... that we were totally allowed to play at. I think.

It was pretty slippery so they spent a lot of time pretending to be animals.

I think Hazel might have a future career on that show Bay Watch.

Teddy loooooved the water. He was squealing so much!

We ended the day with a little cousin sun bathing.

Happy Birthday Madelyn!!

My oldest baby turned 7 in June! She's clever and helpful and beautiful and I am so glad she's my daughter. She got to open her presents first thing in the morning because we went on a camping trip to celebrate our 7 amazing years together.

We gave her roller blades. Hopefully we don't end up regretting that.

We camped up by Idaho City. Grandma Jo, Pops, Toots, and Ian came with us. Our campsite was right next to a creek. The girls were so antsy to get in that they didn't even care that it wasn't warm enough to swim. They had a blast.

Lily forgot her swimsuit so she got to wear mine. We had to modify it a bit.

June had fun playing on the edges of the stream.

We also went on a little hike.

Ian got his hair did for the hike.

Happy Pops.

I said to Ian "I bet you can't just jump onto that stump". But he could.

He could also get off it all fancy like.

There were even bubbles! We had a good time, there was no blood, and everyone slept pretty well. I'd call it a successful family camp trip!
