Strawberry Revisited

This morning Rory and I hiked Strawberry Mountain with Jarrett. We work with him. We did a sunrise summit so we woke up around 2 in the morning and hiked, hiked, trudged, hiked all the way to the top. The sunrise was gorgeous but a little slow for my taste. The wind was blowing on top and it was freezing! This is us freezing our rears off and trying to stay out of the wind:

To warm up Rory tried out transcendentalism....

And I did yoga.

Jarrett talked on his cell phone.

The view was great but it was too chilly so we didn't stay long after the sun rose. We hiked back down with a detour to Small Strawberry Lake and then went to bed again for about an hour. After that we packed up and hiked the mile back out to the car and came home. But first we stopped at DQ for ice cream! Yum!

Yellowjacket

We went rock climbing today for the first time in about two months. One word: ouch. We're a little sore. But it was awesome! Some of the guys here for the summer took us out to some rocks they found on the way to Yellowjacket lake. We had to top rope because there's no established routes. And I got a funny teva burn on one of my feet.

No more lake house

Our lawn finally dried out enough to mow after a month of living here. The lawn mower even came back from the shop! The poor mower had no idea what was coming to it...

It's taken Rory about a week to get the whole lawn mowed because he has to go over it so many times. He's such an awesome husband to stick with it! It's hot out there!

Yeehaw!

Happy fourth everyone! We celebrated with the Vale rodeo! I turned on my camera and found out it was out of batteries so you'll have to imagine all the cool things we saw. There was some pretty neat bronc riding and some not so neat bull riding and the people watching was amazing! We went with Jolene and Kathleen and had lots of fun. Thanks to Uncle Scott (Rory's uncle) for the awesome BBQ beforehand! In closing I'll just say I'm never going to be a rodeo star. Those poor guys limp everywhere.
