Free Labor

This weekend we all packed up and went out to Rory's research site in Rush Valley. I helped out and Madelyn was cute. I used to get paid to do this. Now I talk gibberish and work for free. That sounds like the definition of crazy to me.

The wildlife.

Desert sunset

I'm so glad she didn't pee on the school's truck!

We got her this little bunting. She loves it and so do I. It's so soft and makes cuddling that much better.

Rory getting the pump ready.

Watering the desert. Crazy.

Y Mountain

Saturday we hiked Y Mountain with Kipp and Kathleen. Not just the Y, the whole mountain. It's a little over 10 miles round trip.

This is Kathleen finding out Rory's text said we'll be done about 1.... not done in one hour.

The maples were all turning a glorious red.

Not quite to the top but still a great view.

Checking out the view from the real top. How can so many people live in such a small space?

Before we headed down we took a wiggle/food/diaper change break in a nice shady maple stand. Madelyn loved it.

Addicts to Athletes

Britt and I ran a 5K this morning for addicts. I don't actually know anyone with an addiction... unless you count chapstick. But it was a nice run.

See! There we are! Right there!

Back to the Tetons

We escaped to the Tetons for the long weekend. My heart was happy.

We found some old glasses at our camp site and the boys practiced their professorial looks.

Kayaking on Jackson Lake

Sam's rear wouldn't get out of the way of my shot.

Skipping rocks while the boys kayaked.

And then we got rained on.

The next day dawned bright and clear. Well, actually it dawned cloudy and dull but eventually the sun came out and we were all able to kayak again.

Eating lunch after a nice paddle.

Ian lost his pants.

Sam experienced a small hiccup in his total superness. He got a migraine. Poor guy.

Madelyn loving up on some keys.

Taking a jump around Jackson Lake.

We skipped some rocks.

And found some weapons.

Baby is not a weapon although some of her stinkers could bring a city to its knees.

On the way home we checked out Jackson Hole's candy store of happiness.

We ate Mountain High Pizza Pie.

And had the most delicious ice cream ever. Lemon Honey goodness. I'm still dreaming about it.

P.S. Ian Jack the aspiring photographer took this picture. Way to go baby big guy!
