Mud Camping

We meant to go snow camping but when we got to Hart mountain there wasn't any snow. There were some hot springs and we may have gone skinny dipping in them.

The next morning we climbed Warner Peak. There was lots of snow up there.

We ran into a cougar trail. Luckily it was a few days old but that didn't stop me looking over my shoulder every once in a while.

It took us about three hours to make it to the top. The wind was howling! We took a few pictures and high tailed it down to a less windy spot for lunch.

The selected lunch spot was in a nice little mahogany grove. Hardly any wind!

On the way down we followed a little stream that meandered through a canyon. Most of the time we were on hard snow but occasionally a foot would break through and you'd sink.... or fall over in my case. I only actually face planted once.

Extreme Camping

Rory and I took a camping trip in our front yard! How hard core... But it was fun! We tried out our new sleeping bag liners.

Happy Birthday Rory!

You're such a good husband and brother! I hope you had a great birthday. What could be better than an ER trip at midnight, driving all the way home only to get stuck in your own driveway... twice, and breaking out the back window of the four runner?

At least you got to spend time with family. I love you, you old man.... 26.... sheesh.

Snowboarding Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone! In addition to hanging out with family, eating waaaay too much chocolate and other yummy things, cross country skiing, playing cranium a brazillion times, and in general having an amazing time we also went snowboarding... twice! The first time Pete, Rory, and I went to Targhee and I forgot to take any pictures of the runs. It was way too cold to take off my gloves. I did take a picture of Pete's frozen eye lashes at the end of the day. The snow was great but it was so cold and foggy that the fog froze onto our goggles and made it pretty much impossible to see. Talk about dissorienting. But it was still tons of fun to go zipping through the trees and off little jumps.

Our second snowboarding trip was to the Jackson Pass. This time Laura and Mom joined our little group. It's been a life long dream of Mom's to ski the pass and now she has! What an awesome mom I have. Once again, the weather wasn't great but the snow was. There was powder up to our thighs! It was tiring.
