Lately

We spent an afternoon raking our front yard. It's quite the undertaking because we have two massive oak trees. June was moral support.

She also ate her first Oreo. She snuck it out of Madelyn's lunch box when I wasn't looking. Sneaky little thing. I think it was the best day of her life so far.

The girls and I ran a 5K on Thanksgiving. They were pretty proud of themselves. And I was proud of them too.

Rory was a race bandit. He walked/shuffled with Lily but wasn't actually registered. Luckily no one seemed to care.

Lily the trooper. She ran pretty much the whole thing.

Madelyn and I finished in about 48 minutes. Lily and Rory/June came in at 52. We were not the last people to finish! That's always my goal.

June loves to practice standing.

We participated in our third year of Manhattan's Red Cedar harvest. This year was very wet. It rained on us the whole time. But we still got a great tree for free.

And donuts!

June didn't care about the rain because she had her spiffy shade cover up.

Rory about to fell the tree.

Madelyn had her 1st grade music performance. She got to play the boomwhackers. They're plastic tubes that you hit on the ground to make noise. All her favorite people were there.

Happy Birthday Lily!

Lily Bean turned 4 this week! I can't believe she's so big. She is a joy to have in our house even if she screams like a banshee occasionally. Her favorite things right now are playing pretend (especially pretending she's some sort of pet that I buy at the store), Hatchimals, art, Hayden and salads. We let her choose whatever she wanted for her birthday dinner and she chose salad. She just hit 30 lbs and is in the 11% for weight. She loves preschool and hates shots with a fiery passion.

She got some cozy slippers that she's been wearing to bed every night.

And some fun stencils!

She talked me into throwing a friend birthday party. We invited 5 little girls over. For the activity Lily chose painting rocks. So that's what we did.

They had a blast on the see saw.

More shoes!

Lily requested a rainbow cake.

My favorite picture from the whole party was this one. The excitement! It's a Hatchimals Egg Playhouse.

Little Munchkins Pumpkin Patch

Everyone's been telling us that we need to go to the Little Munchkins Pumpkin Patch that's a few towns away from us. Turns out they were right! What a fun place to spend the day!

There were things to jump off.

Things to ride on.

I really regret not taking this picture a few seconds later. Madelyn hit the tree at the end so hard she fell off the zip line. Luckily she was laughing and not crying afterwards. I do think she was a bit embarrassed though. There was a loud 'Oooooooo' from the surrounding crowd.

Lots of slides.

There was an old truck the kids could crawl around and draw on. That was Lily's favorite.

Happy Dad.

This picture makes me laugh. It's such a typical Lily face.

June just hung out in the back pack.

And there were kitties!!! Although that one got poop on me. But it was still cute.

We had lunch at Toto's Taco's in Wamego and finished the day at the garden where the girl's got their first driving lessons.

Madelyn picked a pretty white pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.

June and I got itty bitty pumpkins.

Dad's only a little crazy.

There they all are.

Oh, and Madelyn finally let me pull her tooth out. I told her it had to come out that night and I would buy her gum. What a day!
