The Birds are Back in Town

Rory's been sick lately and I've been sick and tired of being inside so I forced a Saturday date day on him. Poor guy. Call me weird but I like to visit cemeteries and wander around....soooo we went to Dairy Queen and got some treats and hung out in the Burns cemetery for a while. There are a lot of masons buried there. After satisfying my creepy side we satisfied our nerd sides and went for a drive to check out all the birds migrating north.

Sandhill crane! a.k.a pterodactyl.

Some sort of big fat pregnant bird.

Oregon Coast Weekend

We went to the Oregon coast over the long weekend to visit Rory's dad and his wife. We spent a lot of time wandering around on the beach. It was pretty windy so the waves were really cool. We also visited Bandon, OR and had delicious clam chowder and drinkable chocolate that was heavenly! I'm drooling just thinking about it.

Poor Rory got marooned for a while by the tide.

Me and my round belly deciding which beach house I was going to buy when we're rich and famous.

We didn't find these on the beach. We stopped by the Shore Acres botanical gardens. Not much was flowering yet but they were still beautiful to walk around in.

Messing with sea anenomes.

Terence spotted this sea lion as we walked by it. He thought it was dead because it wasn't breathing so we walked right up to her. Suddenly she opened her eyes and looked right at us!! We all backed off pretty quick. I think she was sick, though. She coughed a lot and didn't really care we were there.

New hair decorations!

And a bird...maybe a Sanderling.

Baby O'Connor

Here she is! So cute... and caught sucking her thumb. Naughty baby. Our scanner wasn't working so these are pictures of pictures.

Looks like a girl blob to me... something about white dots and no turtles.... guess we'll find out in June!

Malhuer Wildlife Refuge

We went on a drive Saturday to the Malhuer Wildlife Refuge to try and see some wildlife. It wasn't very forthcoming. We did spot a deer.

And a northern harrier.

And a sign... oh wait. That wasn't actually alive.

Rory taking advantage of our time out of the car.

Burns Wildlife

We've got two bald eagles that have taken up residency down the road from our house. Mostly they sit on these telephone poles and watch cars go by.
