More Halloween Festivities

We actually went to a Halloween party this year! But I forgot to take my camera... and the one picture I took of us in costume I accidentally deleted. But I'll have you know it was awesome, and so were we. Rory went as the Headless Horseman. He had a real 26-ish lb pumpkin on his head! What a stud. I went as Poison Ivy.

Here are some things I did manage to take pictures of:

Ripping the guts out of our poor pumpkins.

Feel the squish!

Two of the final products. My pumpkin ended up being moldy on the inside. Yuck! It was like scooping snot.

We also decorated Halloween cookies! Madelyn loved the frosting.

Pumpkins and a Hike

We picked our pumpkins this weekend!

Kipp picked two things at once!

That afternoon we went on a hike. Madelyn walked over a mile all by herself! What a little trooper.

Yet Another Quilt

I finished this little baby quilt recently and was pleased with how it turned out.

Madelyn modeling the quilt and also a little stuffed elephant I made.

Camping!... Sort of.

We decided to go camping this weekend. Sounded like a good plan...until we got out to the campground and found all campgrounds in that canyon and the next one over were full. Dang it. Well, we were not deterred. We drove onward and at American Fork Canyon.... all the campgrounds were full.

We ended up pulling off to the side of the road, finding a mostly flat spot and pitching our tent there. By that point it was 9 o'clock at night. We spent a restless night with Madelyn who was not happy about the weird bed time or the sleeping arrangements.

So, no hot dogs, no s'mores, no sleep. But it was a beautiful spot and a beautiful fall drive through the mountains. Sorry to our not-so-lucky camping companions.

Two Things

Two things this little thing likes doing:

Looking at all her clothes. She'll sit in her room for long stretches taking out all her clothes and hugging them to her, saying "ooooo!" and patting them.

Reading. Anything and everything.

Running near Mesa Falls

We went up to Rexburg again this past weekend so I could pay money to run. But before the run, we hung out with family. Yay!

Mom checking out the fruits of her labors.

Pretty Gimpy Adam

Ian was so wonderful and played with my baby lots and lots.

Haha. I love this picture of Ruby.

Big boys playing soccer.

Madelyn wondering who that other baby is.

Saturday was the Mesa Falls Marathon and Half Marathon. I ran the half, Sara ran the whole dang thing! Jake was so nice to ride the last part with her to keep up morale.

Waiting for the runners.

Waving to my Teeny. Rory says I run like a T-Rex. Awesome.

Sara the stud finishing her marathon!

Afterwards I just wanted to sit on the ground for the rest of the day. ( I didn't... I had to walk to the car to go home.)

Tracy Aviary

We went to see The Birds! Not Alfred Hitchcock style. These were nice and mostly caged birds.

I don't think Madelyn cared too much about it. She was just hot and sweaty.

Baby flamingo! They're about the ugliest cute thing I've ever seen.

After the aviary we let Teeny run around for a while. She really wanted to jump in the lake but the best she got was running over this bridge a few times.

Rory caught these hummingbirds fighting.

And this has nothing to do with the aviary but everything to do with yumminess.
