Working With Dad

Rory's been busy getting his projects all set up lately. A few weeks ago he had to go out Sunday morning to put a water sensor in before more storm rolled through so we went with him.

We brought energy pills in the form of chocolate Neccos.

Glamping

We took the girls camping this weekend and mostly had a great time! We met up with some friends at the campground and did a little hike before dinner. While the big people made dinner the littles got to play at the park.

Madelyn was fascinated by this lady bug.

Lily had a great time going up and down the playground stairs but would not go down the slides. She gave me a 'you're crazy!' look every time I tried to coax her down one.

The night was a little rough but at least I didn't end up at Denny's at 3 in the morning. Madelyn suddenly decided she was scared of the dark and woke up every hour or so freaking out about spider webs and shadows. Lily just didn't want to be in the tent but she calmed down around midnight. The next morning we tried to make pancakes but found out our stove was broken. Bummer. Luckily we were 10 minutes from our house so we just packed up and had pancakes in the comfort of our own home.

Lily and I got the cushy tent. We slept on an air mattress. 

Aaaand I'm done camping with kids for the next few years. I like my sleep.

The Bridge

Madelyn saw this train bridge on the way home from Target today and reeeeaaallly wanted to go visit it. So, after naps, we did! She was pretty excited.

I mean, look at this face.

Lily liked it too.

They ran around like crazy and threw anything they could get their hands on into the water.

There was even some jumping.

And then we were done.

Easters

Actually, this first picture is from last week. 1 o'clock church is wiping poor Lily out. She usually falls asleep on the way home.

We dyed eggs on Saturday. This year we tried tie dyed eggs. They were pretty fun!

The Easter bunny came on Sunday. Both girls were seriously excited about all the eggs in the backyard.

Madelyn so much so that she shook her first egg until its contents went flying. Oops!

Afterwards we had bunnycakes.

Yard Cleanup

Our town has yard debris trash day in a week so we decided we should probably clean up our yard. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. It was frigid today! It even snowed a little.

Madelyn wanted Elsa hair.

Things We've Done

It's still winter and we're still stuck inside most days. But we did make ninja bread cookies. That was pretty exciting.

Say cheese!..... That was lovely dear.

I was being a totally attentive mother and told Madelyn to go entertain her sister for a minute after she woke up from nap. This is what I found. Madelyn snooping through her Dad's journal. Luckily she can't read. Who knows what dark secrets she might have found.

Madelyn also really likes the maps and pictures in her Dad's scriptures.
