Baby June

June fiinnaaallly made it into this world. She was my easiest birth by far. I went into the hospital around 7 to get induced. She was born at 3:24. It only took 4 contractions to get her out. I guess once we forced her she was pretty willing to come.

Her sisters were really excited to meet her.

Rory was pretty happy too.

Unfortunately we had to make a trip to the NICU to sort out a worrisome twitch she had. Poor little June had to have a feeding tube, IV, head wires, heart monitor and oxygen monitor attached to her. Every one of her limbs had something on it. Luckily it turned out she was not having seizures. 

She also ended up having jaundice so she got to hang out under a tanning light for a day. She was not a fan of the protective eyewear.

She was pretty happy the day she got to have her IV and other monitors taken off.

They did eventually let us go after we convinced the doctors to let us take her feeding tube out and just breastfeed her. We practically ran out of the hospital before they could change their minds.

Hahahaha. This picture makes me laugh. 

The girls were happy to have their parents and sister home again. My mom was so amazing and drove all night to get to us so she could watch the girls while we were in the NICU.

Pre-Baby

Here are a few pictures of what we did in the weeks leading up to Baby June.

We got a new mattress and pillows. The girls really liked the cylinders the pillows came in. They provided hours of entertainment.

Rory got a scout leader award for being awesome.

I went to Madelyn's parent teacher conference and spotted this fabulous self portrait. Madelyn's teachers only have good things to say about her. She saves all her meltdowns for home.

I took Madelyn and Lily on separate Mommy daughter dates to have a little alone time with each girl before their sister arrived.

Rory spent the week leading up to June's birth at home. He did a lot of coloring.

We finally got all the carseats into the car. It's tight but it works.

We spent one afternoon at the park. The girls and Rory had a rousing game of tag while my ginormous self sat on a bench.

Madelyn loves to swing. And I love that she can pump herself.

After the park we went to the garden. Madelyn dug herself a sitting hole.

This is a different park. It was a beautiful day so the girls and I went after Madelyn got home from school. I'm so excited for warmer weather!

Winter Activities

We finally got Madelyn back on her bike after the traumatic tooth incident. She's been doing great! There's been one wreck. She scraped up her knee and tummy but got right back on and rode some more. She's a trooper.

Lily is starting to figure out how to pedal. She still prefers to scoot.

Our Discovery Center opened a new exhibit about the rainforest. The girls love this ginormous spider web. There's also a fun butterfly house.

Lily likes the puppets too.

I took the girls on a hike on Konza while Rory was in Reno. Lily walked the whole way!! It's a first.

We're an attractive bunch.

Lily has also discovered the joy of walking to the fish pond. We do it often. I'm partial to these chairs.

Madelyn got awarded the Kindness award for her Kindergarten class. She was pretty pleased.

Madelyn has been working hard for months and finally saved up enough money to buy a little makeup kit from Claire's. She's very happy and has painted our faces many times.
