Mud Camping

We meant to go snow camping but when we got to Hart mountain there wasn't any snow. There were some hot springs and we may have gone skinny dipping in them.

The next morning we climbed Warner Peak. There was lots of snow up there.

We ran into a cougar trail. Luckily it was a few days old but that didn't stop me looking over my shoulder every once in a while.

It took us about three hours to make it to the top. The wind was howling! We took a few pictures and high tailed it down to a less windy spot for lunch.

The selected lunch spot was in a nice little mahogany grove. Hardly any wind!

On the way down we followed a little stream that meandered through a canyon. Most of the time we were on hard snow but occasionally a foot would break through and you'd sink.... or fall over in my case. I only actually face planted once.

Heavens to Murgatroid! I didn't think you could blog about anything more exciting than maybe going skinny dipping - but cougar tracks are definitely MORE

Mine's the 17th. We should've thrown a big January birthday bash during those Rexburg days.

I love that picnic picture.
